Summer Vacation: Part one

Jay and Aunt Carrie rocking outside of Cracker Barrel today. After we ate, we let him run around the porch. He grabbed a handful of checkers and passed them out to customers walking out of the restaurant like he was saying, "thank you for coming, here is your parting gift." I have to say it was very cute...even if I am biased. Very excited about giving Mama Ross an after-lunch kiss!
"Now how does this thing work??"
Lemons!
We took over our neighbor's pool and swam until Jay started to show his emotional side (that is how they describe him in the nursery at church at least). He loved the warm water and was worn out when we got home.
Riding on the mower with papa. Jay LOVED watching him but wasn't sure how he felt about riding it.
Jay is finally at the age where he and his Uncle Kurt can team up and get into a lot of trouble. Jay had a ball playing slide, golf, and reading with him...and decided Kurt was the only one privileged enough for kisses on Saturday.
Giving us a concert with Papa's karaoke machine.
Fun in the giant bathtub
Showing you his new toothbrush that Uncle Alan and Aunt Gina gave him!
We are at the start of our week long vacation with family and I thought I'd go ahead and put some pictures up. So far we have had a lot of fun tearing up Mimi and Papa Rich's house and we are off to do the same with the Ross clan at the beach tomorrow. Wes had this weekend off so we made a last minute decision to drive down and surprise his dad at church for Father's Day. We got to my parents house Friday night and then drove to Tifton this morning. Sadly, Wes had to drive home today since he is on call tomorrow. He was pretty down about leaving all of the fun for another long week of work but on the bright side...he has only 3 more nights of being on call at the hospital (i.e. sleeping in a tiny twin bed in a tiny room waiting for crap to hit the fan...well, if he sleeps at all he is lucky but you get the picture). This is because on July 1 he starts ophthalmology and will only have call from home (good and bad, I guess since this means I will hear the dang pager every time it beeps) but he is thrilled to never have to sleep in the hospital again....and of course, to be starting that which he has set out to do. Also, he will have much more time off, especially weekends....yay! So that's the deal with him and his bitter-sweet week at home.
So here are the pictures I have taken of Jay being spoiled. Even though he doesn't see his grandparents frequently, he has learned that when he comes to see them, he gets anything he wants and takes great delight in running the show for the week. And it will only get worse tomorrow (not so great for me when we get back home). Thankfully mom will be coming back with me so maybe between the two of us, he will eventually surrender. More pics to come since I will try to post several times this week for his daddy.
Here is Jay singing. I was late getting the camera out so I didn't get him cracking himself up at the beginning but you can still see him having a good time with it.
