Easter and Day Trip

Getting ready to hunt!
Here are pictures I took during our Easter Egg Hunt with some friends from church and the kids had a ball. The hunt lasted all of one minute until they were all ready to move on to other things....but at least I got some pics!  We are about to walk out of the door so here they are, sorry for the no captions.

I do have to explain this one, Jay tried to give his friend Caroline a hug...but was passionately rejected...haha...

Then after talking it over with her mama, decided she would bless him with her sweet hug. :)
These next ones are from Monday, we went to Charleston for the day and took Jay to the Yorktown Ship display. Tons of planes and helicopters...he was completely overwhelmed. But loved it!

We had to "ride airplane" three times over the course of the morning.

Wes had to tote Jay down these narrow stairs and every time Jay would say, "no bonk head, daddy. no bonk jay's head." Then once they made it, he would look at me and say, "no bonk head mama!"

The rest are just us playing around in the parks and fountains. He really did have a great time. And was soaking wet by the time we got in the car to go home.

He was laughing here, i promise, they were having a tickle match

i love this one!

Videos

Drawing.

Taking a walk.

This is how we get Jay to eat his butter beans.

I wish you could hear his laugh better but he is showing his excitement about Wes cutting wood. This is a new laugh he does, reserved only for such very esteemed activities.

I had 3 other videos that were precious, one of Jay and Papa Tim and two of him playing in some boxes. They were inside and our little digital camera is not good at lighting up the scene. So I edited them but now blogger won't upload the edited ones.  Annoying! I'll get some pics up after our Easter fun!

Yay for good weather!

going on walk

"Jay!  turn around so I can get a picture!"

Telling me about his sandbox plans

serious stuff

he was very excited about the rake

Jay had been asking to 'ride boat' all day so as soon as Wes got home, there was no question as to what was about to happen

ready to go!

pulling it back in, jay thought he was really helping.

peak a boo

running to the next thing on his agenda

i guess he's just performing for you here.

like father, like son.

after a day outside, and trying to fix the fishing pole

cutie pie getting some bait out of his tackle box

Granny, this was what he bought with your Christmas money.

Funday Sunday at church!  Sooooo much fun for wild man.

listening to the fireman tell a story

Riding on the choo choo train!

Or as Jay called it, "papa's tractor!"

In a bounce house, Jay refused to slide down, he thought walking down it was more fun.

getting on the helicopter!

We finished out the day at the playground. He played for over an hour and I had to drag him to the car kicking and screaming.

propped up on the bleachers drinking choc milk and watching a softball game

these two boys entertained him the entire time, i told them they needed to just come home with me.

jay thought he was a vital part of their soccer game

after the soccer game jay managed to talk them into 'ring around the rosy'

saved the best two for last: my cheeseball posing after church

Mom and Mama Ross, these two are just for you!  I thought you'd LOVE them. :)

My camera is working again, obviously, so we don't have to rush out and get a new one just yet. Jay is back to his spring/summer routine of getting as dirty as possible and then tracking all of it through the house...usually right after I've mopped and vacuumed!  But it is totally worth it to have this nice weather and a tired out toddler at the end of the day.

We went to Funday Sunday at church and he played his little heart out for 4 hours. Last year he had just learned to walk and was somewhat timid of all of the rides. I remember we threw him in the bounce house and he didn't know what to do so he just sat down and cried, Wes had to climb in and rescue scared boy. This year, however, he owned the bounce house! Not to mention the firetruck (which they must have told him about in sunday school that day because as soon as I told jay we were going to church for 'Funday Sunday' he started yelling for firetruck. And the train (which Jay called "Papa's tractor" since it was led by a lawnmower). And then a helicopter ride, but he pitched a fit in the middle of it because he didn't like the seat belt. Go figure.

As far as the rest of things, Wes is taking his big annual exam this weekend so has been studying like a mad man these past few weeks. I will be sooooo happy when Sat afternoon gets here, and I guess Wes will too. ;)  I am done with my Thursday clinicals and have two more weeks of Friday classes, then I am done completely. Jay will be in school through the end of the month so I am pumped about three Thursdays of having the house all to myself for my many projects I've been putting off. Then, the first week in May Wes and I are going to Fort lauderdale for an ophthamology conference. Mom and the Ross' are keeping Jay so this is just a trip for us. Wes will be in and out doing whatever they do at these things and I will be napping in the sun all day!  Very excited!  Then, we come home and I'll have to figure out what I'm going to do with wild man for five days a week again!  Thank God for our zoo and children's museum memberships, as well as all of the things columbia has for toddlers, as this will be my means of survival until I get him back in school starting August. I will be teaching again in the fall, twice a week but will probably put jay in school three days a week. He absolutely loves going to school and this will give me a day for grading papers/house work.

Otherwise, we are just enjoying the outside and trying to tone down the bossy tyrant our sweet boy has turned into. :)
