Motor mouth...

Wes came home late from work the other night and Jay had to tell him ALL about his day. We learned about fires, friends, girlfriends, and many other important events. This went on for 20minutes. I caught bits and pieces for you to see. This is why we affectionately call him "motor mouth."

he is just getting started...

still going...

still not finished

finally slowing down

Singing and dancing...Wooo!

Random shots from the week

Playing in his crib while I clean up

This is the art decor above the crib...mom and Aunt Charlene helped me make them when they were here. I love how it turned out!

He loved spraying my car off while I washed it

And now for his bike wash...

My sweetheart brings me flowers almost every afternoon :)

My baby's growing up!  Sitting on the porch watching big brother eat his apple.

Now just watching his hand.

Jay insisted on holding eli's hand

Eli is getting used to his persistent companion

Trying to roll over...he is not a fan of tummy time, still smiling though!

posing with Janet's (our neighbor a few doors down) dog

They had a father's breakfast at Jay's school the other week. This was their doggie doughnut. The kids gave their dads pictures of something they like to do together. Jay's was playing baseball and bulldozers.

he kicked his feet out of the tub last night. I thought it was so funny!

"I don't see what the big deal is, mama."

We've had a hectic weekend...Wes working A LOT and the two boys takes turns being difficult, as usual. Jay and Wes had to have a "heart to heart" Friday night after Wes spanked him. Jay was not doing anything we asked all day and just smirked at our many efforts to talk/bribe him into being cooperative. Once they got into bed he gave Wes a big hug and said, "I love you Dad. But I'm sad because you spanked me."  So Wes explained why he had to spank him and Jay said he would do a better job listening. He has really been great since then though....I wonder how long this will last.

Our camera finally died this week and between my clumsy hands and Jay's wild hands....I am surprised it lasted this long. We are going to Best Buy tomorrow to buy a new one....one that is both water and shock proof....as every device within 5 feet of crazy boy should be.

Some videos are uploading....hopefully they will be up soon.

Our leprachans are the cutest!

Here are pictures from this week. Everything is about the same. Eli is as sweet as ever...I told Wes today that I didn't know babies could be this sweet. Due to our previous experience (I'm not naming names) I thought all they did was cry until they were about 4 months old. But he is just so content and happy....unless he gets hungry...but he IS a man, right? I have noticed several differences in the two boys lately. Jay was always so social, even as a newborn. He was always happier when we were out and around people. We could pass him around and let anyone hold him without a problem. He could stay up late with us and be fine until we got home. He was a great baby in this respect. He is definitely our extrovert in the family.
Eli, though, seems to be more introverted. He is his best when we are at home, it's quiet, and there are just a few people around. When we take him out he is manageable, but mildly annoyed the entire time. And if I start passing him around it is just a matter of time before he looses it. He doesn't like being thrown in and out of the car too many times and if we are not home by 8 he will SCREAM until we get him there. If he's not in his swaddle blanket and eating his last feeding by 8:30, he turns into a demon child. So, as you can imagine, he is baseline annoyed at his wild big brother on a daily basis. The looks he gives Jay are hilarious to me. Jay, of course, is not phased by his brother's constant disapproval.
We had a fun weekend with our church but I was worried a little about how Eli would handle the busyness but he did great. Friday night we had "Kids Night In" which is a ministry for parents put on by the college dept. They babysit our kids for free while we all get to go out on dates for the night. It was so fun and Eli even made it until we picked him up at 8:30...even though he let us have it on the way home.  At least the nursery workers thought he was a sweet pea. :) Then on Saturday we spend the afternoon with the youth playing in the park during their Impact Weekend. Jay is well known in the youth group and did his thing he as entertained every student out there. And Eli, immediately kidnapped by my senior girls, was spoiled rotten the whole time.
We are so thankful to be apart of this church family and love the fact that Jay already understands how important church is. Speaking of that, I noticed the other day that when he says the blessing he doesn't address God. So I asked him, "who are you thanking for the food?" and he didn't know what to say. His first guess was Mama Ross (he always sees her cooking when we visit--haha!) and we said that wasn't it. So he said "mommy" and we still said no. Then we explained that we thank God for our food that he gives us even though other people may cook it. He seemed to get it well enough but tonight, after we talked about the blessing, he told us that Jesus cooked our supper for us. And we just couldn't argue with that.

Jay took our picture the other day when I was rocking Eli....

showing off his coon hat

Getting ready to do some work outside

Jay got a splinter the other day, he convinced Wes to wait until the next day to take it out and, sure enough, was ready to have surgery that morning

As Jay calls them, Dr. Daddy had to wear his "work noculars"

Jay is getting a little worried

"We got it!" he said as Wes pulled it out

Eli showing off his grabbing skills with his toys

He plays in this seat several times a day, kicking, cooing, and holding his toys

If he's anything like Jay, the fun will run out soon enough and I will have to entertain him myself again
This is his look of annoyance, from all of the pictures, no doubt

Sweetness!  His feet really aren't that big!  haha....must be the picture angle

I get to look at this pretty face all day....sooooo wonderful!

Watching big bro have a snack

More grinning

Notice the slobber---we are in bibs all day long now

Yesterday morning...we took our leprechauns to the St. Patrick's Day Parade downtown

Waiting for it to start

This was jay's first parade, we told him to stand and wave at everyone so they would throw him candy

He did a great job, although, was a bit confused at first. And I guess, for a first-timer, it would seem strange that groups of people ride on top of cars at 5 mph waving and dancing for no apparent reason.

We kept saying, go back over and keep waving so they will throw more candy!  I told Wes, I think we are teaching this child to be greedy. He was satisfied with the first few candies but we made him keep going back to get as much as he could.

Minnie!  She is one of Jay's favorite characters so he was in awe.

"Elmo!!"  So glad he shares my long-time obsession :)

And what parade would be complete without the chick-fil-a cow!

You have to admit, he makes such a cute little parade fan

Eli slept through most of it, as usual, but did wake up for the end....although not as impressed

"Why all the noise??" "And where is my swing?"

Now he's getting into it

He was very decorated by the end

I love this boy!

Loud mouth and baby boy after church today

Eli is starting to like Jay---just a little...and just for a minute

Smiling in his cute spring outfit

My favorite expression.....so happy!
